Kodak Alaris Film Price Increase 2026

Kodak Alaris Film Price Increase 2026

Today we have received the least exciting news of the year from our Kodak supplier. Kodak Alaris is at it again and will be increasing films being sold to us. Official motivation for increase reads "significant increases in the cost of silver and other components" as per our supplier.

Unfortunately, to be able to keep offering attractive prices on films by having low markups, we are forced to reflect the price increase in our pricing.
Keep in mind that we will be still offering films at their old (lower) prices as long as the pre price increase supply lasts. Which may be a good opportunity to stock up at a more attractive pricing.

The price increase does not impact all films distributed by Kodak Alaris. Although most (if not all) 120 films are affected. The increase varies per stock between 1% and 39%. Below we offer you an overview of affected films and the respective price increase.

Overview of price increases

What about Eastman Kodak?

Some of you may have heard that Eastman Kodak (the Kodak that makes your film rolls) has started to distribute films on their own, allegedly at lower pricing. You may have noticed "new" film (that is same film in new box) from Kodak called Kodacolor and Gold among others.

Yes, it is true - Eastman Kodak (that is the OG Kodak) is distributing their film on their own. Skipping the Kodak Alaris (now private equity owned company) as a distributing middleman.
Small detail is that official distribution takes place right now only in US of A and Canada. We are unable to indicate if or when Eastman distributed films will be available in the Netherlands at reasonable prices.

We could already start selling Kodacolor, Gold and UltraMax from Eastman distribution, but given they are not so official release, they come at even higher prices than those distributed by Alaris.

Therefore in the time being we will not offer same films in different box, unless official distribution in Europe appears and the pricing will motivate it.
